a weblog with an allotment attached

Poorly sick

I’m not feeling at all well today and so instead of working I am taking it easy at home. This means that on top of feeling dizzy and nauseous I am also plagued with guilt at missing work as well as worried sick(er) about the extra work that taking a day off will inevitably give rise to.

So, I’m mooching about feeling sorry for myself and surfing the ‘net as a way of whiling away the time. On my virtual travels I have discovered loads of new allotment and gardening blogs that I hadn’t come across before (you’ll see that the list to your right is substantially longer now than it was when you last visited…).

This is brilliant! Gardening blogs are still relatively thin on the ground in comparison to other areas of interest, but there’s certainly growth. Of course, this means that there’s more for me to keep up to date with, but it’s a small price to pay for more opportunity to link up with people who have the same interests as well as getting useful planting tips and advice. Being so much of a novice I rely on the information I get from reading more accomplished allotmenteers’ blogs.

Also today while checking through my visitor stats I discovered that somone had visited my site via BlogShares (here’s my BlogShares profile). I haven’t heard of it before, but it looks fun in a kind of complicated, geeky, haven’t-these-people-got-more-important- things-to-do-with-their-time? kind of way.

LOL! Blogshares has been around for a while. It’s the blog stock market ^_^ Can get quite addictive. A good way to keep on top of all the blogs you are interested in is getting it through RSS. You need an RSS reader. I use Feedreader and put in all the rss of all the blogs I want to subscribe to. The minute they are updated, I’m notified by the feedreader :) Very handy.

    Hope you feel better soon!
