Alphabet biscuits
I spent hours in Birmingham this week searching for a star-shaped cookie cutter and could find nothing except plain or fluted rounds. I don’t know where the good people of Brum who bake biscuits are going for their cookie cutters, but perhaps they are just not very imaginative. I have discovered that I can buy pretty much any shape cutter I desire on the internet (of course), but that’s not really any help to me now. Still, the one thing I found among this very disappointing kitchen utensils of Birmingham’s shops was a collection of alphabet cookie cutters. That’s what I call a consolation prize.
I spent most of the last two days baking biscuits of different varieties – chocolate shortbread swirls, spiced orange shortbread and a huge collection of alphabet biscuits. So now I am all set for Christmas.
