Flushing tomatoes
I’m not much of a tomato grower. (Let’s face it, other than beans and potatoes I’m not much of an anything grower!) I have no greenhouse so I have to rely on hardy varieties that stand a chance of being successful on a sunny-ish, sheltered patio. So far my toms have done pretty well this year. They have been well irrigated and properly supported and have grown like billy-oh. The vines are positively burgeoning with fruit – green fruit. Large, promising and greener than a panda’s poop.
See?
But there is hope. Two – two – of my tomatoes are showing definite signs of redness.
With all this sunshine we’re having (ahem) they’ll be ready in about a month or two I reckon!

My tomatoes are still green too. No sign of red at all yet. They are beautiful though and I can’t wait for the plump juicy ripeness to get started.

Hi Jane Marie – Welcome to P’Soup. Glad to hear I’m not the only one waiting impatiently for the tomatoes to ripen!

Some tomatoes seem to take ages to ripen especially outdoors. I always grow some Sungold because they ripen very early both indoors and out. It’s reliable too and the taste is outstanding. I hope yours ripen soon.
