Strawberry runners

My strawberry plants have served me well this year. I had intended to grow them in bags on makeshift staging, but in the end we just sat them on the wall where they positively thrived. Although the crop is now well and truly over (just shy of 3kg in total which is not bad from 3 growbags, 2 of which had past-it plants in them) the youngest plants are doing a great job of making sure I will be over-run with strawberries next year.

So far I have potted up 21 baby plants on runners still attached to their parent plants. It looks as though there are more on the way. Suits me just fine. Well, it’s not like you can have too much strawberry ice cream, now is it?
